hello again…and San Clemente Review

I am not so quick on the blog front-too busy tweeting and facebooking! asked on my other blog if i should combine my work and personal blogs. what do you think?

in the meantime, here is my review on San Clemente Palace in Venice!

Location:

-In Venice, on a private island-San Clemente Island, about 30 minutes from airport
-best way to get there is by private water taxi, arranged by the hotel for 110EUR for 4 people and 4 pieces of luggage-trip was about 30 minutes

 First Impressions:

-very impressive, large island with lots of green!

-large, wide halls

Service:
-amazing, knew our names right away, welcomed us to breakfast, offered tidbits of information on Venice while waiting for the water taxi
-very professional!
-the man who checked us in took us right up to our room, showed us around, explained the property and hours of certain services

 The Room: Room Type
-we were upgraded to a junior suite-very roomy! Had sitting area with couch, large washroom with separate room for toilet, shower, bath, amenities
-room had a large king bed which can be separated to be two twin beds
-two large closets, safe, mini bar
-was given a bottle of water each night beside the bed

-big plush bathrobes were provided in the room

-Internet-wireless in room by an external company is 5EUR for 30 minutes or 7EUR for 60 minutes

-Also have internet on the TV which I took advantage of for 8EUR for 24 hours-has a keyboard and mouse-very easy to use!

-TV only had 3 English stations-CNN, Fox News and National Geographic

Food/Drink Service:

-only ate breakfast at the hotel as it was included-buffet breakfast
-tons of options-healthy and gluten free options, rice milk plus fruits, breads, pastries, eggs, hash browns, breakfast meat, etc as well as juices, coffee, tea and champagne

-large room service menu
-the restaurant for dinner at the hotel seemed quite pricey
-there is also a bar with some snacks like salads, sandwiches etc

Take Note:

The hotel is on an island, about 10-15 minutes from San Marco Square by free water shuttle that leaves about every 15 minutes. It was nice to come back to the hotel and be away from the hustle and bustle of Venice!

Things I liked:

-          The island itself-big, beautiful, green

-          Had a large pool with lots of lounge chairs, couches, a pool restaurant and bar

-          Tennis courts, golf course

Things I didn’t like:

-          I couldn’t really find anything not to like!
